Overview

The Sr. HRIS Reporting Analyst is responsible for delivering high-quality HR data insights, dashboards, and reporting solutions that enable informed business decision-making. This role focuses on transforming complex HR data into meaningful analytics through advanced reporting, visualization, and storytelling.

The Analyst serves as a subject matter expert in HR reporting and analytics, partnering with HR, Finance, Payroll, and business leaders to design and implement scalable dashboards, automate reporting processes, and drive data accuracy and governance. This role requires strong analytical, technical, and business acumen to convert data into actionable insights.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using UKG People Analytics (IBM Cognos) or other BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau
  • Translate business requirements into scalable reporting and analytics solutions that support strategic decision-making
  • Deliver actionable insights, trends, and predictive indicators through data analysis and visualization
  • Create and manage standardized KPI dashboards across HR functions including Talent Acquisition, Compensation, Workforce Planning, and DEI
  • Perform deep-dive analyses to identify patterns, anomalies, and opportunities for process or business improvements
  • Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and consistency across HR systems by performing regular audits, validations, and reconciliations
  • Develop and enforce reporting standards, data definitions, and governance frameworks to maintain consistency and compliance
  • Automate recurring reports and dashboards to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort
  • Optimize reporting processes using advanced Excel, SQL, and BI tool capabilities
  • Partner with HR, Finance, Payroll, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver impactful reporting solutions
  • Present insights and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences through effective data storytelling
  • Provide timely ad-hoc reporting, analysis, and data support for business needs
  • Support HRIS (UKG Pro or similar) reporting modules, including report configuration, testing, and enhancements
  • Maintain reporting security and ensure compliance with data privacy and governance standards
  • Identify opportunities to improve data quality, reporting usability, and analytics maturity across the organization
  • Document reporting processes, dashboards, and data definitions for knowledge sharing and standardization
  • Support HR Operations, Compensation & Benefits, Talent Acquisition and Payroll/Finance teams with ad-hoc projects, reports, data analysis, and information requests
  • Assist with data updates, imports/exports
  • Document internal processes, training manuals, and controls
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience in HRIS reporting, analytics, or workforce analytics
  • Strong experience in dashboard development and data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, Cognos, etc.)
  • Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, Power Query, Macros, complex formulas)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to handle large datasets
  • Experience in data modeling, transformation, and reporting automation
  • Ability to interpret complex data and present clear, actionable insights
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Preferred

  • Experience with UKG Pro / UKG People Analytics (IBM Cognos) or similar HRIS platforms (Workday, SAP SuccessFactors)
  • Knowledge of SQL, data warehousing, or ETL processes
  • Understanding of HR metrics (attrition, headcount, diversity, compensation, etc.)
  • Experience with predictive analytics or statistical analysis
