Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Software Engineer with a strong background in PHP to join our development team in Bangalore. This role involves designing and implementing software subsystems and services, leading small development projects, and collaborating across teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze, design, document, code, and test software components of medium complexity.
  • Provide accurate time estimates and progress reports for assigned tasks.
  • Develop and maintain unit tests and functional prototypes.
  • Collaborate with product management, QA, and system architects to ensure alignment with system requirements and design specifications.
  • Participate in design and code reviews.
  • Support management in evaluating technical issues, assessing risks, and recommending solutions.
  • Mentor junior developers and delegate tasks as needed.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Experience

 

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in PHP, including recent work with PHP 8.3 and Laravel 12.x.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in JavaScript, jQuery, Ajax, CSS, and HTML.
  • 5+ years of experience with SQL Server, including Transact-SQL Stored Procedures.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with standard development tools (vscode IDE, Microsoft collaboration tools, PHP testing frameworks, Git version control, Datadog or similar monitoring tools, and Jira).
  • Experience working with REST-like APIs.
  • Knowledge of Apache web server configuration with virtual hosts and PHP-FPM pools.
  • Experience in Windows development environment (VDI with XAMPP) and deploying applications on RHEL 8.10 VMs.
  • Familiarity with shared NFS mounts, Azure App Gateway, and SSL offloading.
  • Strong debugging, performance profiling, and optimization skills.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies (Kanban, Scrum).
  • Basic understanding of multi-threading and concurrency.
