Overview

The Blackline Specialist owns the Blackline platform. Responsibilities include writing business requirements, designing solutions, feature testing, and making recommendations to the business on how to realize more value from the system. This role is also expected to perform the necessary configurations and testing to support the requested functionality. As part of the finance systems team, you’ll also get opportunities to learn and grow on our core systems beyond Blackline (D365 F&O, Oracle EPM, Concur, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Have a solid understanding of Blackline Account Reconciliation, Automated Journal Definitions, Transaction Matching, and Task Management
  • Experience with the import utility tool and handling integrations via SFTP and other methods
  • Strong understanding of building/configuring data sources and lookup tables
  • Provide direct Blackline production support as needed
  • Lead requirements discovery, analysis, and verification
  • Lead and manage small to medium sized projects end to end, ensuring alignment and readiness across all key stakeholder groups
  • Clearly and regularly communicate project status, expectations, and risks
  • Develop rapid business cases to support project and enhancement prioritization
  • Work with teams to analyze and prioritize application requirements into a platform backlog and assist in creating work breakdown deliverables.
  • Facilitate process discovery and optimization workshops
  • Document any information elicited using process maps and business requirements documents.

Assist in the preparation and delivery of end user documents, training materials, and user demos.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience creating business and functional requirement documentation
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in Blackline implementation, configuration, integrations, system design or related business experience
  • Demonstrated project leadership
  • Experience working in matrix and agile environment
  • Excellent interviewing, listening, observational, analytical, and organizational skills
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with cross functional teams across the organization
  • Previous experience working with finance and accounting strongly preferred
  • Certification in Blackline strongly preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O is a plus
