C++ Developer

HireRight Technology is an IT team supporting HireRight, the premier global background screening provider. Combining in-house talent, personalized services, and proprietary technology, we ensure the best candidate experience possible. Our software serves hundreds of thousands of users daily and the platform processes 100+ business events per second. The company is headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee, and we are currently in the process of building our Katowice based Tech Hub. We are looking for a driven and skilled C++ Developer to join our agile team of professionals. If you're passionate about building reliable, scalable software and enjoy working across application logic and databases, we’d love to hear from you.

As a key member of the development team, the C++ Developer will be responsible for implementing and supporting application subsystems and backend services using C++ and SQL. This role requires comfort working in a distributed architecture and agile development environment.

• Analyze, design, document, code, and test assigned tasks with moderate to high complexity
• Develop and maintain efficient and maintainable code in C++ and SQL
• Write and optimize complex SQL queries
• Provide accurate estimates and status updates for assigned tasks
• Participate in system and database design sessions
• Develop unit tests, integration tests, and prototypes as needed
• Ensure software solutions meet technical and business requirements
• Work collaboratively with Product Owners, QA, and Solution Architects
• Participate in code reviews and design walkthroughs
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across the stack

Experience & Skills Required:

• 3+ years of professional software development experience with C++
• Strong knowledge of SQL and experience working with relational databases
• Proven experience in multi-tier, distributed systems
• Strong grasp of Object-Oriented Programming and Design
• Familiarity with JSON and XML
• Experience with Agile/Scrum development processes and common SDLC tools (e.g., IDEs, version control, ticketing systems)
• Exposure to event-driven and asynchronous processing models

Preferred Qualifications:

• PL/SQL experience is a plus
• Java development experience is a plus
• Experience with automated unit and integration testing
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail
• Passion for solving complex problems with clean, efficient solutions
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
